Description
A stunning Italian pottery pitcher with highly textured Fat Lava style finish, known as Smalto Roccia (rock glaze). Has hand painted Effetto Lacca (enamel effect) San Marino scene. Several factories in the San Marino area of Italy produced ceramics in this style between the 1950’s – 1980’s. This particular vase was made by the factory Libertas (active 1955 – 1982). Marked to base “Libertas, Rep. S. Marino”.
